Melanie Yes it was a great success thank you! Lindy plans to write to you seperately. Unfortunately Chilli is still some way from a full recovery and although there are glimpses of the dog (puppy really) we had before, there is still a long way to go. Dear Melanie Please excuse me for not contacting you sooner.
I LOVE my portrait of Chilli.......as you know she had a terrible time and thankfully is now mending slowly. She has to have another op at the end of June in the hopes that her insides can be improved . Although she appears well, the illness damaged her intestines and she is so young we want to try and make life easier for her. Ian explained how stressful the whole portrait project was....knowing that if she didn't make it, the present wouldn't have seemed appropriate quite so soon after. BUT, she did, and we can all enjoy the fabulous painting. Phew! Thanks for all your interest in her recovery.

Dear Nick, the work you did on my friend's lab, Sophie, is perfect! I could not want more! As you know, my friend just recently had to let Sophie pass on after 13 years together, so this is a great memory keeper for her - and 40th birthday present! Thanks, Kelsey Kenfield

Melanie, He looks so handsome (somehow he looks happier than another lab on your web site wearing a uniform) but that's my opinion! It's the kind of picture I like. It makes you think of pleasant places and companionship, almost gets me teary. I wouldn't change any of the picture. I'll look forward to getting it in the email thanks so much..

The sketch arrived in the mail today and it looks great. I'll be anxious to see it framed & I'll send you a photo when it's done thanks again. I'm thinking K-dog will have his picture hung next to a mounted duck hanging on a wall. pretty much every day, at some point, he goes over & jumps up & down woofing at the duck, like he figures it needs to get retrieved again, I guess.

So I did not wait, like I said i was going to. I had the sketch framed already. The photo is not likely the best looking because I kept getting reflections. I replaced the matting with one a little more yellowish - had more of a dried grass color I thought. The frame is a blue/grey speckled sort of barn board looking color. 2nd photo is where I hung the sketch, next to a mounted duck & old calls. If you're interested- the mounted duck was done by a guy locally. he does very high quality taxidermy, he was commissioned by the US Dept. of Fish & Wildlife to do some work & also did some to go to the Simthsonian. So I figure K-Dog's picture was deserving of some good company.Take Care Craig |

Hi Melanie - well he arrived today - and I "daren't" (see how I'm picking up so quickly) tell you that he sat on the porch for 2 hours! I work from home and get a lot of FedEx packages for work and they just drop them off. I heard the doorbell ring, but thinking it was them forgot about it. Anyhow, he was safe and sound :)
As for the portrait itself, I'm just speechless. He is beyond stunning. Just brilliant! There is not one thing I could alter. And I'm so glad I went up on the size as he is literally life size which I didn't realize he would be. It's like he's just sitting in the room with me. He's just beautiful Melanie - as beautiful as he was in real life - I could not be happier!! I'm a big sap and of course cried, but they are happy tears. I'm just so thrilled to be able to have this wonderful memory of him to carry with me always. He was such a special boy - there is not a day that goes by I don't think about him - so to have this to see everyday is just wonderful. It's just so very special. I can't thank you enough of course!!!! :) so THANK YOU!!!

I wanted to let you know that your painting arrived in perfect condition, and we absolutely love it! I admit I let it sit for a day or so until me, my husband and my mom (and the dog children) could open it together. Many oohs & ahhs. I can't thank you enough for all the heart and talent you put into their portrait. Looking at it up close, your brushwork, use of color and understanding of dog anatomy is amazing. More importantly, you've captured their expressions and personalities perfectly. (They should only look so sleek & well-groomed in person.) It's an artwork that I'll treasure forever, thanks to my sister's generosity. My entire family sends our heartfelt thanks!

I've hung it in the living room where we walk by it several times a day, and it never fails to bring a smile to my face. You are so talented, and your work brings such pleasure to those of us lucky enough to own one of your pieces. I promise to send photos of my dogs with their portrait once the weather clears up. I want to stage it out in the back yard where the original photo was taken, but it's been raining all week here.I also have to mention how happy I am with the framing, and I think it's a valuable addition to your line. Now the painting is truly finished, ready to hang the moment it arrived. Your choice of frame is perfect to harmonize with off the tones in the artwork. Special thanks to your framer -- the workmanship is perfect, and I love the fleur de lis paper on the back! A touch of Florence, yes? (I'm guessing he used an Italian paper from Florence.)
